Entrance Age Requirements:

Our Entrance Age Policy states that children must attain five years of age on or before October 31 of the school year in question to be eligible to enroll in Kindergarten. Further, the Policy also states that children must attain six years of age on or before October 31 of the school year in question to be eligible to enroll in First Grade. Please note that our Entrance Age Policy is strictly enforced.


Please Note: Middle School Assignment:
 


Enrollment of middle school students is determined by elementary school assignment.

Children attending the following K-5 schools are assigned to Crossroads South Middle School for grades 6-8: Brunswick Acres Elementary School, Cambridge Elementary School, Greenbrook Elementary School (with the exception of Beekman Manor), Indian Fields Elementary School.

Children attending the following K-5 schools are assigned to Crossroads North Middle School for grades 6-8: Brooks Crossing Elementary School, Constable Elementary School, Monmouth Junction Elementary School and students who reside in Beekman Manor.

Enrollment is considered complete upon presentation of all required documentation.

REGISTRATION REQUIREMENTS ARE STRICTLY ENFORCED


Registration requirements for South Brunswick are:

  • Student and parent/guardian must live in South Brunswick. You must have and active lease or deed. (Future lease, Anticipated moves into new construction or future closings are not accepted)
  • Parent/Guardian must be present during registration.
  • Children are not required to be present during registration.
  • Original Birth Certificate with raised seal, Visa or Passport must be provided.
  • PSE&G is required. (New account letter, account summary or Paperless bill may be accepted after review)
  • Immunization records must be provided at registration.
  • If transferring from a school within NJ, you must provide a transfer card during registration.

The following residency documentation MUST be provided:

1. Homeowners – these items must be brought to registration:
  • Original signed deed or title.
  • Original and current PSE&G bill and (1) other mailing with a South Brunswick address – (e.g.: current driver’s license, pay stub, voter registration, vehicle registration, state ID).

Statement of Assurance will be provided by South Brunswick School District


2. Renters - these items must be brought to registration:
  • Original signed lease.
  • Original and current PSE&G bill and (1) other mailing with a South Brunswick address – (e.g.: current driver’s license, pay stub, voter registration, vehicle registration, state ID).

If you are registering under one of the provisions listed below, please contact Maria O'Donnell at 732-297-7800 ext. 3107 in the Office of Assessment and Instructional Support at the Board Office to schedule an appointment to register your child.


3. **Residing with a South Brunswick Resident - these items must be brought to registration:
  • Original signed lease,deed or title of the South Brunswick Resident.
  • Notarized letter, listing by name all of the registrant’s family, from the South Brunswick resident that certifies the registrants are living at the residence.
  • (3) documents that list a South Brunswick address – (current driver’s license, pay stub, voter registration, vehicle registration, state ID).
  • If applicable, all custody, legal or placement documentation must be provided.
Statement of Assurance will be provided by South Brunswick School District for both the parent/guardian and the South Brunswick resident for signature.

4. **Families enrolling on an affidavit status - these items must be brought to registration:
  • The student must be living with a district resident for reasons other than to obtain a free education in South Brunswick Schools.
  • MUST INCLUDE PARENT AFFIDAVIT - The parent of the student must complete an affidavit attesting that they are unable to care for the child do to a family or economic hardship.
  • MUST INCLUDE RESIDENT AFFIDAVIT - The South Brunswick resident must complete an affidavit that the child is living with them.

Other required registration documents.

  • Original birth certificate with raised seal.
  • Current Immunization records.
  • Current Physical Examination required (Physical Exam Form).
  • Original Deed/Lease or Title.
  • Proof of address (PSE&G Bill or Online Account Summary is mandatory, drivers license, Comcast, bank statement).
  • ID is required (Drivers License, State ID, Visa/Passport, Green Card).
  • NJ Drivers license if provided must have updated address  - CLICK HERE -- > (DMV Online address change confirmation is accepted).
  • Visa required (If born outside the US).
  • School transfer card.
  • Final report cards for the past two years for grades 1-8.
  • Transcript for grades 9-12.
  • If applicable, conduct or discipline report.
  • Standardized test scores.
  • If applicable, IEP/504.
  • If applicable, all custody, legal or placement documentation.


Please check above and be sure you have all information that pertains to your registration. All documents and residency materials MUST be brought with you at the time of your scheduled appointment. Continue to Step 2 to pre-register and choose your appointment date and time.

Congratulations you have completed steps 1 & 2  and have all the documents needed for your appointment with Central Registration.  An email will be sent to confirm the date and time you selected.  Please allow 30-45 minutes to complete your registration when you arrive for your appointment.

ALL REQUIRED DOCUMENTS MUST BE PRESENTED AT YOUR SCHEDULED APPOINTMENT OR YOU WILL BE ASKED TO RESCHEDULE.
