South Brunswick Reads

For the past 10 years, the South Brunswick school district and public librarians have invited members of the community to engage in a common reading experience called South Brunswick Reads (SBReads).
Our readings to-date have included the following:

  • 2011 - The Wonderful Wizard of Oz
  • 2012 - Alice and her Adventures in Wonderland
  • 2013 - Genre-based Literature: Fairy Tales
  • 2014 - Character Trait-based Literature: "GRIT" (Gumption, Resilience, Inner Strength and Tenacity)
  • 2015 - Theme-based Literature: Building Bridges
  • 2016 - Full S.T.E.A.M. Ahead: Explorations in Science, Tech, Engineering, Art and Math
  • 2017 - The Boy Who Harnessed the Wind
  • 2018 - Reading Without Walls
  • 2019 - Reads Around the Globe
  • 2020 - Mission Possible!

For this 10th year, we have selected "Mission Possible" as our district theme. Through this challenge, the hope is to expand our reading horizons and read a book outside our comfort zone. Choose a book about topics that inspire innovation and sparks new thinking, stories about those who pursued and achieved impossible goals or discover where your personal passions lie and share them with us.

During SBReads 2020, we invite students, staff and residents of all ages to find out more at this site: http://southbrunswickreads.pbworks.com and please visit our district and public libraries for displays and book title ideas.
