About The Program The Crossroads Music Department delivers group instrumental and vocal music instruction to 900 plus musicians each week and hosts over 20 large and small instrumental and vocal rehearsals each week. We are involved with teacher education programs from The College of New Jersey, Rutgers University and Westminster Choir College have earned the reputation of being one of the finest middle school music programs in the state. We provide a variety of performance opportunities for our students in many different musical idioms including Concert Bands, Jazz Bands, Small Chamber Ensembles, Orchestras, Vocal Ensembles, Pep Bands, Handbell Choirs, Pit Orchestras and Musical Theater. We are very proud to be able to provide over $2400.00 in scholarship opportunities each year to students who have exhibited outstanding musical qualities without the benefit of private studies. Crossroads Music Students perform in Winter and Spring concerts as well as Music Festivals throughout the state of New Jersey and beyond. We are called upon to perform at several community events, which included preparing music for a visit by Former President Bill Clinton.


Over the past few years, we have participated in the "Music in the Parks" festival, sponsored by Festivals of Music, where we have traveled to Hershey, Pa., to participate in an overnight adjudication festival. We have received the rating of "Superior" in the Middle School Division for the Jazz Ensemble and Concert Band, the rating of "Superior" for the Orchestra and first place with the rating of "Superior" in the Junior High Division for the Vocal Ensemble, Concert Choir, Jazz Band, Symphonic Band, and Wind Symphony. We have also received several "Judges Choice Awards" for our outstanding performances.
