2001 - 2002 School Year In Review In September, John Ketterer took over duties as Music Supervisor, the music department welcomed the arrival of Mr. Robert Sears, who has assisted Mr. Ketterer with the Jazz Band and Wind Symphony. The Jazz Band performed for the entire faculty and administration of South Brunswick School District as they officially kicked off the school year on September 4, 2001. We also welcomed 390 students into our instrumental music program.

October brought much excitement as our Crossroads eighth graders joined up with the South Brunswick High School Marching and performed during the half time festivities.

In December, instrumental music students performed their winter musical selections in two separate concerts for both the South Brunswick and Crossroads communities.

In January, the Jazz Band received the rating of "Superior" at the Nottingham High School Jazz Band Festival. B.J. Olson was selected as outstanding soloist. Pelu Tran and Joseph Wong successfully auditioned for the Central Jersey Region II Orchestra.

February saw 1,381 pizza kits delivered to Crossroads and a team of Music Parents distributed all of them to their rightful owners. Some even by car!

The production of Li'L Abner took place in March with an all middle school pit orchestra. You had to see it to believe it!

In April, the Jazz Band functioned as the "house band" for two nights at the annual Crossroads Middle School Talent Show.

On May 17-18, we took 7 buses and an entourage of 410 students, teachers and chaperones to our annual junket to Hershey Park with the results as follows: Our eight performing groups were winners in every way!

And, on May 30, we presented to you our Annual Spring Concert! Seventh grader, Katherine Toma, received our Westminster Conservatory of Music Scholarship.
