Current Events Guidelines
- Find an article from a daily or weekly newspaper or an article from a weekly news magazine such as Time, Newsweek, etc. The article can also be from a credible online source, such as CNN.com or MSNBC.com.
- The article should be about a local, national, or world news event. Articles should NOT be about entertainment or sporting events.
- Read the article and complete the assigned task for the current event period.
- Cut out the article and tape or paste it onto a piece of paper. Make sure the title of the article is visible and includes the date and source of the article.
- Your current event assignment should be on a separate sheet of paper. Your assignment should be typed unless otherwise told.
- Staple the article and the assignment together. The article should be stapled behind your assignment.
- Put the proper heading on each page (name/date/homeroom/class).
- Be sure to turn in the assignment by the assigned due date. You may turn in your assignment anytime during the 2-week period.
