Mr. Peter Varela Principal 732.329.4044x5202 Mr. Peter Varela earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Economics from the State University of New York, College at Oneonta. In addition, he holds a Master of Science degree in Educational Administration and Supervision from Mercy College, New York and a second Master's degree in Secondary Education from the City University of New York, Brooklyn College. Mr. Varela has been an administrator in South Brunswick since February 2003 and has served as Principal, Assistant Principal for Academic Leadership, Grade-level Assistant Principal, and Supervisor. He expects students to reach their full potential through academic rigor and exposure to co-curricular activities that will help them reach and accomplish their many goals. Mr. Varela is passionate about teaching and learning and wants our students to be exposed to master teachers and support staff. When he is not at the high school, Mr. Varela enjoys spending quality time with his wife and two sons and coaches youth soccer and Little League baseball. |

Dr. Aparna Rajagopal Interim Assistant Principal for Academic Leadership 732.329.4044x5203 Dr. Rajagopal’s career as a high school educator began at SBHS in 2002; she became the Chair of the Science Department in 2009, and is now the Interim Assistant Principal for Academic Leadership and Chair of the Science Department. She has earned her PhD in Solid State Physics with a focus on surfaces and interfaces. Her research was conducted at the Department of Physics, India, Fritz-Haber-Institute of the Max Planck Group in Berlin, Germany, at Princeton University, at the University of Notre Dame in Namur, Belgium, and at Rutgers University. She loves to spend time with her family and friends. She also enjoys reading, traveling, and gardening in her spare time. |

Mrs. Susana
Nikitczuk Assistant Principal for Student Services 732.329.4044x5231 Mrs. Susana Nikitczuk earned a bachelor's degree in Spanish from the University of Maryland. In addition, she holds master's degrees in education, bilingual education and education administration and supervision from Governors State University, Illinois and from the University of Phoenix. Mrs. Nikitczuk is currently the assistant principal for student services Before assuming her present position, she was the district World Languages supervisor. Prior to becoming a supervisor, she taught Spanish at North Brunswick High School. Mrs. Nikitczuk was born and raised in Buenos Aires, Argentina. A resident of North Brunswick, Mrs. Nikitczuk enjoys traveling, cooking, and spending time with her husband, her children, family and friends. |

Ms. Jaymee Boehmer Assistant Principal for Grades 11 and 12 732.329.4044x5218 Ms. Jaymee Boehmer earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Health and Physical Education from East Stroudsburg University. In addition to completing a master’s degree in teaching, she received her administrative license through the NJ EXCEL program. Ms. Boehmer currently serves as the Assistant Principal for grades 11 and 12. At SBHS, Ms. Boehmer has served as a Dean, Head coach for girls’ basketball, soccer, golf, Peer advisor, and health and physical education teacher. Before coming to South Brunswick, she taught and coached at Woodbridge High School for four years. Ms. Boehmer enjoys cooking, gardening, traveling, and spending time with her children, family, and friends. |

Mrs. Patricia
Abitabilo Assistant Principal for Grades 9 and 10 732.329.4044x5235 Mrs. Patricia Abitabilo has earned a bachelor's degree in English and Latin from Montclair and a master's degree in reading from Rider University. Later she attended the College of New Jersey where she earned her second master's degree in educational administration. Born and raised in Essex County, New Jersey she worked at Parsippany Hills High School and SBHS as an English teacher. In addition to her duties as an English teacher, she has also taught religion to second graders. Mrs. Abitabilo is especially interested in educational topics such as student achievement, teacher efficiency, culture and equity. She currently lives in Mercer County and enjoys gardening, going to hockey games, watching football (Go Eagles!) and doing home improvements. |
