Art
The art program is designed for all high school students to develop both their hands-on and creative thinking skills. The art department provides direction and opportunities for students interested in either pursuing an art career or developing their cultural awareness. The courses offer a multitude of experiences and explorations with a variety of media which take the art student from an introductory level all the way through to the creation of a college bound portfolio. All art students are required to keep an art journal and sketch book. The taking of advanced level art courses requires the signature of the Art Department Staff. Since all of the art courses are studio experiences, participation, attendance, level of effort and productivity are of significant importance in the grading process.
