What is Project Graduation?
Project Graduation is an event that is held nationwide following high school graduation to provide graduating seniors an opportunity to celebrate their graduation with their peers in a safe, supervised, tobacco, substance and alcohol-free atmosphere. It began 32 years ago in Oxford Hills, Maine in response to 7 alcohol and other drug related deaths of teens in the graduation season of 1979. The event is organized and funded through the efforts of parents and is fully endorsed by the South Brunswick Board of Education. Project Graduation receives funding from the South Brunswick Municipal Alliance Against Substance Abuse and the Governor's Council on Alcoholism and Drug Abuse (GCADA).

When is Project Graduation?
Project Graduation will be held this year on Tuesday, June 24, 2014 starting at 10:00pm and ending at 5:30am.

Where is the event?
Project Graduation has been held at the Funplex, in Mt. Laurel, NJ on graduation night. Bus transportation is provided to and from the high school. Students will board buses at SBHS around 10:00pm and return to SBHS at 5:30am where they will pick up their diplomas. 15-20 parents and teachers chaperone this event with police officers from Mt. Laurel & South Brunswick.

 

How much does it cost to attend?
This year’s 2014 senior class is approximately 749 students. It takes a great deal of fundraising to keep this event going each year. Your help is needed. All parents are invited to get involved – not just senior parents. The current cost to fund the event is almost $50,000! The success of this event is contingent upon the efforts of volunteers, parents and local community organizations that support major fundraising events and activities throughout the year. In the event we do not raise enough funds, there will be a charge for the event.

  • Support our fundraising efforts by attending the events
  • Invite a fellow parent or friend to join us!
  • Donate to Recognize-a-Senior
  • Donate water or soda or bake for our fundraising events

Craft Show Thanks:

The Project Graduation Craft Show Committee would like to extend its sincere thank you to the many student and parent volunteers, to the many bakers and individuals who donated items to help to make our 9th Annual PG Craft Show a successful event.  Preliminary numbers show that we have exceeded the profit from last year’s event by approximately $2500, raising almost $7000!  We would also like to thank many in the community who attended our event.  We hope to see you next year and Thank You Very Much for your support of Project Graduation!

Project Graduation Sweets Week

Celebrate the week of April 7th which are Early Dismissal Days with good eating!  Local businesses are partnering with Project Graduation to offer you great food AND help support Project Graduation at the same time!  Visit Redberry on Monday, Confectionately Yours on Tuesday and Hoagie Haven on Thursday!  All three businesses’ flyers are on one convenient flyer!  Print yours and visit them all!!  (Flyers must be presented for Project Graduation to receive a donation. Individual flyers are also available on the Project Graduation website.)

Park My Ride

Next Drawing Friday, April 25th

The next drawing for the Project Graduation fundraiser, Park My Ride, will take place Friday, April 25  at SBHS.  It’s not too late to win one of 4 PRIME PARKING SPOTS being raffled off by the PG Committee*.  The winners will have a RESERVED Park My Ride spot for one month, beginning Monday, April 28th until Friday, May 23rd .  In addition, if you don’t win this month, your same entry will be included in the May 23rd drawing, as well!! That’s 4 MORE chances to win a reserved spot while you support Project Graduation.  As an added bonus, the May 23rd winners will receive a reserved parking spot at Sun Bank Center for this year’s SBHS Graduation!

1st Annual Foundation Cup Golf Outing

The Education Foundation of South Brunswick Township, Inc. announces its newest fundraising campaign,

“Tee Off for EDUCATION”, featuring its first annual golf outing, The Foundation Cup, to be held on Friday,

May 23rd at Bunker Hill Golf Course.  The Foundation Cup Golf Outing provides golfers a chance to enjoy a day of golf and participate in activities benefitting the Education Foundation.  In addition, a portion of the proceeds from this year’s “Tee Off for EDUCATION” will support South Brunswick High School’s Project Graduation campaign.

 

Individuals and businesses can also support the Education Foundation and this year’s “Tee Off for EDUCATION” campaign through The Foundation Cup Sponsorship opportunities, including the sponsorship of a hole or tee, lunch, raffle or prize, door prize, beverage cart or overall sponsorship. All sponsors will be prominently recognized during the event, as well as in The Tournament Cup Golf Outing program.
