South Brunswick High School's
Viking Closet 6th Annual Completely Free Prom Dress Event
Many girls may not attend prom this year because of the high costs associated with the event. Every girl wants to have that perfect prom, one filled with wonderful memories. She wants to go to prom in the dress of her dreams and feel like a princess for the evening. The Viking Closet wants to make this dream a reality for all high school girls. The “Closet” is a student/staff managed (free store), within South Brunswick High School that collects and distributes donated clothing and accessories.
Last year, we collected over 400 dresses thanks to our generous donors! Over 100 girls were able to receive the dress of their dreams! This years prom event will take place after school from 2:45 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday, February 21, Wednesday, February 22, and Thursday, February 23 in the Viking Closet Store. February 21 is for SBHS students only. On February 22 and February 23 students from other schools are welcome to shop, however any student from another school must make an appointment through firstname.lastname@example.org. Students from South Brunswick High School do not need an appointment. SBHS students only, will also be able to shop during school hours on Friday February 24, Monday, February 27, and Tuesday, February 28 during their HAP-blocks 2, 3 and 4 or their lunch. Students can also enter a free raffle for prom tickets, manicures, mani/pedi's, prom make up, up do’s and gift certificates for tuxedo rentals on February 21 and February 22 in the cafeteria alcove. Students will receive goodie bags with makeup, etc, while supplies last. The Prom event is open to ALL SBHS girls (grades 9-12) and other area high schools girls (grades 11 and 12 only). This year girls will be able to take home 2 dresses as there will be no dressing rooms available for students to try on dresses. Please be sure to plan an alternate mode of travel home as late buses may be filled to capacity.
