STUDENT GOVERNMENT
OVERVIEW
The Student Government of SBHS provides students with a democratic
forum in which to address school issues and the activities provided, while serving
as an effective communication system. The Student Government is composed of the
Student Council, Class Councils and the Student Senate. The Student Council members
are both elected and appointed officers who represent the school at large. Among
other officers, the Student Council includes a Representative to the Board of
Education. The Class Councils are elected officers representing each grade level.
The Student Senate consists of the Student Council, Class Councils and Student
Senators. The Student Senators are student representatives elected from each
A Day Block 1 class. The Senate is led by the Student Council and is an active
body meeting monthly to address issues, concerns and activities of interest to
all students at SBHS.
Each class elects officers to plan activities that represent the interests of their respective class. Fund raising, dances, trips, and school spirit activities are organized by the class officers. Faculty Class Advisors work with the class for the four years students are at SBHS.
