Classroom Expectations
Students are expected to complete reading and other assignments in a timely fashion. Students will be expected to maintain a safe and clean environment in the classroom and lab. Students are expected to treat all members of the classroom with courtesy and respect. Students are expected to be here to do their best and learn.

Chemistry in the Community
Chemistry in the Community or Chemcom is a laboratory based science course that meets the college standards for science credits. It represents a major effort by the American Chemical Society to enhance science literacy through a high school chemistry course. Chemcom emphasizes chemistry’s impact on society and the environment.

Active Physics
Active physics is a hands on approach to understanding the rules of nature that create the world around us. A fundamental understanding of these rules of nature will allow students to predict the consequences of their physical actions and change those actions to obtain outcomes they might desire. In short there is a reason why things work the way they do and by the end of this course you may have a very different picture of the world around you then you have now.
MATERIALS NEEDED FOR CLASS:
1 COMPOSITION BOOK
1 FOLDER/NOTEBOOK FOR HANDOUTS
1 CALCULATOR
1 EACH PENCIL AND PEN
1 TEXTBOOK

The Classroom Rules and Consequences:
1. Be in your seat and ready to learn when the bell rings.
2. Raise your hand if you have something to say.
3. Keep body parts and objects to yourself.
4. Take responsibility for your own actions.
5. Do not inhibit anyone’s right to learn.

Failure to adhere to the rules will result in a warning, followed by some after school classroom service, lastly an administrative referral.
