MEDICATION IN SCHOOL


IN COMPLIANCE WITH THE NEW JERSEY DEPARTMENT OF EDUCATION GUIDELINES AND REGULATIONS, AND THE SOUTH BRUNSWICK TOWNSHIP PUBLIC SCHOOL DISTRICT BOARD OF EDUCATION, ANY MEDICATION WHICH IS TO ADMINISTERED DURING SCHOOL HOURS:

This policy includes ALL medication to be administered in school including over-the-counter items (such as Tylenol, Advil, Benedryl, cough syrups, etc.).

Please remember a registered nurse can NEVER make a diagnosis or prescribe medication (even over-the-counter). Therefore, medication will not be administered without your permission and the doctors directive.

If you have any questions about this policy or questions regarding your child's medication, please do not hesitate in contacting the school nurse.
