Letter from the President

As the new school year begins, the PTO board looks forward to working together with our, parents, administrators and teachers. We encourage all of you to get involved, whether it is volunteering in the classroom or helping with various PTO events, we look forward to another successful year.

We do understand that everyone‘s time is very valuable, however please remember that we ask for involvement for the children and not the organization. The PTO cannot be successful without the efforts of our many parent volunteers. There are many ways in which you can help either by heading one of our wonderful committees or by simply lending a helping hand at one of our events. It is more imperative now as parents, to help the PTO grow, with the schools consistently faced with budget cuts and the fun extras that were once included in our school budget are slowly disappearing.

Last year our PTO was able to provide things such as:

  • National Geographic magazines for our 5th grade students,
  • Time for Kids, Scholastic News, and Weekly Reader
  • Teachers receive $4 per student for classroom enrichment materials.
  • Enrichment assemblies

**  Rock Roots, Arabian Knights, by George Street Playhouse, Tap Team Two,

Bandura African Dance Troop and Ralph the Great: A Character Building

     Assembly.

  • Lenape Life Ways lecture for 2nd and 4th graders

We also provided other services such as the Back to School Ice-cream Social, School Pictures, Spirit-wear, Holiday Shop, Halloween Social, Teacher Appreciation, Breakfast with Dudes, Family Directory, Hospitality, Plant Sale, 5th grade Graduation t-shirts as well as refreshments after graduation ceremony, as well as many others.

We also provide many grants and gifts for the school and teachers.

As you can see, there are many services and events that we provide for our school but most importantly our children.

I would like to thank you all in advance and I look forward to working with you.

Sincerely,

JoAnn Both

President
