The IF PTO is proud to announce that it has only ONE official fundraising event during an academic calendar year.
Walk-A-Thon
The PTO sponsors an annual Walk-a-Thon to raise money for our school. In the prior years with the help of our strong family participation and support, this has been the ONLY fund-raiser for the school during the academic year. The annual Walk-a-Thon is held on the first Friday of October. The 1-3 mile walk is held at the Indian Fields Soccer fields and always provides a fun-filled day. Each year the Walk adopts an important social theme to increase awareness among kids. For example: The 2005-2006 school-year, we adopted the “Healthy Initiative” theme to stress the importance of exercise in our lives. The students are also given goals / rewards for reaching certain pledge targets.
Proceeds from the fundraiser go towards the following activities:
- Annual “Author Visit”
- Audio Enhancement equipment
- Enrichment Art Assemblies
- Classroom grants
- Additional classroom educational materials
- Maintenance of the outdoor science center
- Additional music equipment
How You Can Help?
The Walk-a-thon is an all-day event and is only possible because of parent volunteers. In addition to helping your child find sponsors to meet our pledge targets, please volunteer your time to make this event a success. Even a few minutes of your time can make a big difference!!!!
Other Ways to Help!!!
Box Top & Target Card Rewards: The school submits Box Tops for Education in October and February. Target Rewards are received periodically from Target stores. Proceeds from Box Tops and Target are given directly to the class room teachers to purchase educational items for the class room.
Other indirect / minor fundraisers: Active wear sales, Halloween Social and Mother’s Day Plant sales. Proceeds from these activities are pooled together for the benefit of the students.
