*** Bags of pretzels or boxes of animal crackers could be used

that our classroom will be a peanut-free room. Please make sure that
all snacks brought in do not contain peanuts and have not been
manufactured in a factory containing peanuts. Please check all

****It would also be helpful if your child
had the following supplies at home to help with homework: crayons,
pencils, scissors, glue, and ruler.

Snack
Your child should bring in a healthy snack each day to eat sometime before
lunch. Some suggestions of healthy snacks include crackers, pretzels,

Spelling Sorts
*Buddy Sort- Place the bold words on a flat surface. With a partner, sort the rest of the words according to their patterns.

*Speed Sort- Partners place both sets of bold words on a flat surface. See who
can sort the rest of the spelling words the fastest according to their
patterns.

*Blind Sort- Place the bold words on a flat surface.
Partners take turns testing each other on how to spell the other words.
If your partner spells the word correctly, also ask him/her which bold
word it should go under without having them look at the word.

Math Games
*Addition/Subtraction/Multiplication
Dice Game- Partners roll two dice. Whoever yells out the sum,
difference, or product first earns a point. Continue playing. Whoever
has the most points at the end is the winner.

*Addition/Subtraction/Multiplication
Snap- You need a set of playing cards. Split the pile in half and give
each partner one half of the deck, cards face down. Partners flip over
one card from their deck at the same time. Whoever yells out the sum,
difference, or product first gets both cards. Keep playing. Whoever has
the most cards at the end wins. (Kings, queens, and jacks equal ten and
the ace equals one.)

*Number Heads- You need three players and a
deck of cards. One person is the dealer. He/she places a card on top of
the other two player's foreheads. Those people hold the cards on their
heads without knowing what card they have. The dealer calls out the sum
or product of the two cards. The other two players need to figure out
what number is on top of their heads by looking at the other player's
card. Whoever figures out their card first gets to keep both cards. The
player with the most cards at the end is the winner.
