How You Can Help At Home
Ask your child about the novels that are being read. Let them tell you about their favorite part. See if you know a novel that is similar and may interest them.
Ask your child about an interesting character they've read about. See if the character reminds you of your child. Discuss how.
Ask your child to write something they would like you to buy at the supermarket. Ask them to write a few reasons why they want that item.
Ask your child to estimate how long a particular task will take. Ask how long they may have to wait for an event to occur.
Look over the nightly homework.
Check for neatness and correct spelling.
Reinforce positive work habits.
Compliment any imrovements you may notice.
Stay involved and interested.
