Welcome to Greenbrook! My name is Jodi Mahoney and it is my pleasure and privilege to serve at the Principal of Greenbrook Elementary School. Although this is my first year at Greenbrook, Iíve been in the South Brunswick school district as an administrator since 2004. Prior to that I served as both an elementary school teacher, staff developer and Assistant Principal in New York City.
I graduated from Wellesley College with a BA in Psychology. I then pursued my elementary education certification and MA from Teachers College Columbia University. After teaching for a few years, I earned my MA in Educational Administration from NYU.
I am also the proud author of two books for teachers on teaching writing, Joyful Ways to Teach Poetry to Young Children and Nonfiction in the Early Years, both published by Scholastic.
I am also the proud parent of two children.
I am thrilled to be a part of the Greenbrook Community and canít wait to meet you all.
I am so excited to be joining the Greenbrook Elementary School community as your Assistant Principal. I began my career at Constable in 1999, first as a paraprofessional, then as a first grade teacher. After continuing my teaching career at Brooks Crossing, Deans, and Dayton schools, I assumed the role of Assistant Principal at Brunswick Acres School in 2010. For the past 5 years, I have served the South Brunswick School District as the Director of Community Education.
I received my undergraduate degree in Psychology from Rutgers University, and my Masters in Education from the University of Pennsylvania. I completed my administrative certification from the Foundation for Educational Administration’s NJ EXCEL program.
I am a proud resident of South Brunswick and my son is a 2016 SBHS graduate. As both a parent and an educator I have seen the great work our schools do to prepare our children for their future. I look forward to working collaboratively with a committed staff and an engaged parent community to provide the very best educational experience for our Gators!
