School Site Council PTA meeting The Greenbrook School School Site Council is a group of teachers, parents and community members entrusted with the task of academic goal setting. This school based management group gives the entire school community a voice in making important decisions which directly affect the quality of education in our school. The School Site Council acts as a liaison between parents, teachers, administrators and Board of Education members. It consists of six parents, five teachers and two school administrators. Meetings are held on the first Tuesday of each month. Some projects which have been developed by the Council are Author's Night, K-2 Bedtime Story Hour, and Math, Science, and Technology Night.

Welcome: Given by Heather Fitzgerald. New member, Marilu DeCoste was introduced and welcomed by members.
Board Report: The report was given by Arthur Robinson. January was Board Appreciation Month. The board received and shared a personal letter from Heather Fitzgerald regarding tragedy in Newtown (her hometown) at the last Board of Education meeting.
After the recent event at Cambridge, the Board has decided to review safety equipment and protocols and make any necessary adjustments in efforts to improve the safety of our schools district wide.
The next Educational Summit will be held on February 25, 2013 at 7:00 pm at Crossroads North Middle School. Test scores and other topics will be addressed at the meeting. This is an open forum and all are encouraged to attend.
Principal’s Report: The report was given by Pat Holliday. Security measures continue to be assessed, particularly after the incident at Cambridge School. Adjustments have been made for meetings and other after hour activities. Friday morning jazz band entrance for students has been moved to the main entrance. In an effort to familiarize themselves with building floor plans, members of the SBPD routinely conduct perimeter checks and continue to have an increased presence in all district schools.
K-2 report cards will be sent home Monday, February 11, 2013.
Math, Science and Tech Night will take place next week on Wednesday, February 13, 2013 from 7-8:30 pm. The Star Lab will be delivered tomorrow. A flyer will be sent home encouraging students to create “Build Your Own” displays for the event. The entrance in “D Hall” will be open for this event and a sign-in sheet will be used.
There will be no school on February 15th and 18th in honor of Presidents’ Day.
The Princeton Symphony In-School Concerts will be held on February 14, 2013 for the Third Graders (Strings) and on February 21, 2013 for the Fifth Graders (Brass Quintet).
Mrs. Gerdes is currently out due to knee surgery. Mrs. Meyers is currently substituting four days per week.
Mrs. Rogol has left sooner then expected for maternity leave. An Assistant Principal position for Greenbrook/Brunswick Acres is currently posted. Interviews will be held by the Principals.
International Night will be held on Thursday, February 21, 2013 from 6:30-8:30. Foods/Breads and entertainers will be provided. There will not be vendors.
Spring Literacy: Information given by Heather Fitzgerald. The Spring Literacy program will
focus around Fairy Tales. More details to follow. The original date of March 13, 2013 has been
tentatively moved to April 4, 2013.
Other: February 25, 2013 is the 100th Day of School.
The next meeting will be held on March 5, 2013 at 7:00 pm in the Faculty Room.
