School Site Council PTA meeting The Greenbrook School School Site Council is a group of teachers, parents and community members entrusted with the task of academic goal setting. This school based management group gives the entire school community a voice in making important decisions which directly affect the quality of education in our school. The School Site Council acts as a liaison between parents, teachers, administrators and Board of Education members. It consists of six parents, five teachers and two school administrators. Meetings are held on the first Tuesday of each month. Some projects which have been developed by the Council are Author's Night, K-2 Bedtime Story Hour, and Math, Science, and Technology Night.

SSC Meeting Minutes for March 1st, 2011


Attendees: Arthur Robinson, Pat Holliday, Heather DeLollis-Fitzgerald, Lynn Nowak, Sabuha Din, Myra Gildenberg, Joanne D’Angelo, Pete Ciabattoni, Gail Magid


 


The meeting was called to order at 7:00 pm.


 


Welcome: Heather welcomed everyone and introduced Arthur Robinson.


Board Report: Mr. Robinson provided an overview of the public budget meeting held on Feb.23rd. State aid


   Increase by 1.0 mil, just 1%. Challenges include a 2% cap on the tax levy, a decline in township ratable due


      to property tax reassessments, and 2 Charter school applications. The next budget meeting is scheduled for


     3/21. The next Board meeting is scheduled for 3/28 and the proposed budget will be discussed. Elections


     for school officials ad the vote on the budget will be held on April 27th.


 


Principals Report:


   Teachers are scheduled for maternity leave this month. Mrs. Biringer’s last day is scheduled 3/2 and her


      replacement will be Sarah Donovan. Mrs. Shadell’s is last day is scheduled 3/11 and will be replaced by


      Ralph Cardillo.  Mrs. Bajnath’s last day is scheduled 3/25 and a replacement has not yet been announced. 


   A Shelter in place drill was conducted on 2/28. This is a benign drill to be utilized if there were possible


      dangers outside the school, such as an animal or fumes.


   Mrs. Holliday reminded all of the following upcoming events:


     March 4 – Teachers’ notes to parents, scheduling conferences to be distributed


     March 10- Math Science & Tech Night – We are getting ready for the big night.


     March 18- Parent/Staff/Volunteer Volleyball to benefit Brandon


     March 22-25 Parent/Teacher conferences


     March 25- – Grades 3-5 report cards will be distributed


The meeting was adjourned at 7:30pm. The next meeting is scheduled for April 12th at 7:00 pm.
