School Site Council PTA meeting The Greenbrook School School Site Council is a group of teachers, parents and community members entrusted with the task of academic goal setting. This school based management group gives the entire school community a voice in making important decisions which directly affect the quality of education in our school. The School Site Council acts as a liaison between parents, teachers, administrators and Board of Education members. It consists of six parents, five teachers and two school administrators. Meetings are held on the first Tuesday of each month. Some projects which have been developed by the Council are Author's Night, K-2 Bedtime Story Hour, and Math, Science, and Technology Night.

·      Hope everyone enjoyed their Thanksgiving


·      Next SSC meeting will be held on January 5, 2010


 


Board of Education Report: Dr. Speesler


·      Due to problems with Comcast and a poor signal from Crossroads North, the Board of Education meetings will not be televised live.


·      The meetings will be recorded and replayed for four days.


·      Soon Public meetings will be held regarding the upcoming budget.


·      Mr. Abschultz will be the Chairman for the budget meetings.


·      Need to figure out what percentage of money comes from State.


·      Design budget and whatever is not covered goes to tax level.


·      Will have an idea of better numbers after the Governor’s State of State          Address.


·      Teacher’s contracts are still under negotiations.


·      The SB schools website has been redesigned and is more user friendly.


 


Principal’s Report: Pat Holliday


·      Thursday, December 3rd, will be an early release day due to Professional Development.


·      Elementary, Middle School and High School teachers will attend.


·      There will be a surprise key note speaker.


·      One of the key issues will be Responsive Classroom led by Ms. Carson.


·      On Friday, December 11th, 3-5 report cards will be sent home indicating the end of the 1st trimester.


·      The first week of February 2010, K-2 report cards will be sent home.


·      December 24-January 4th will be Winter Break.


·      Regarding the Budget, will meet with Board of Education office and have list of specific needs such as basketball court and baseball field.


·      There are school wide problems with clocks due to a poor satellite and signal.


·      New clocks are on the way shortly.
