School Site Council PTA meeting The Greenbrook School School Site Council is a group of teachers, parents and community members entrusted with the task of academic goal setting. This school based management group gives the entire school community a voice in making important decisions which directly affect the quality of education in our school. The School Site Council acts as a liaison between parents, teachers, administrators and Board of Education members. It consists of six parents, five teachers and two school administrators. Meetings are held on the first Tuesday of each month. Some projects which have been developed by the Council are Author's Night, K-2 Bedtime Story Hour, and Math, Science, and Technology Night.

In attendance:  Judy Walters, Bridget Stump, Nancy Blanes, Susan Schatzman, Gwen Waxman, Heather DeLollis-Fitzgerald,  Myra Gildenberg, Ann Sisko, Sabuha Din, Joanne D’Angelo and M. Speesler

Principal’s Report
G.Waxman reported that NJ Ask is completed
Lori Westenburger was named Teacher of the Year
Mrs. Rosta is now out on maternity leave
Mrs. Davidowitz had two boys
Mrs. Shortreed is due in August
June 1st and 9th are concerts
June 4th and 5th Field Day
Thursday is early release- teachers will work on PIP’s, preparing placement cards to be completed at end of year
Kindergarten Orientation was today-books were given to students from SSC
State Kindergarten booklets were also given out and a cover designed by Greenbrook Kindergartners was placed on each

New Club Proposal
Bridget Stump presented an idea that she would like to do with Mrs. Woods
She purposed a service club that also involved recycling
Gave ideas for projects that did not raise money but used resources or reused resources to give back
Would like to involve all grade levels and the school as a whole either at lunch/recess or after school

Author’s Night
M. Gildenberg reported that 46 families were registered, hoping for one hundred, got a donation of cork boards that will be given out that night
H.DeLollis-Fitzgerald reported that pencils were ordered and bookmarks. Water bottles are also taken care of for the evening.
G.Waxman said she would have students put together the bookmarks and other gift items. She also said she would send out an email blast reminder to sign up.
J.D’Angelo will make certificates
S.Schatzman said she will make stickers for the cork boards and help with the refreshments in the cafeteria

Board of Education Report
Dr. Speesler reported on last night’s recognition of retirees and the almost 700 years of service
Budget passed 2 to 1 and programs can be maintained
Administrators have been cut by state mandate
Education Foundation is in the process of being set up

Next meeting is June 11th dinner meeting
