School Site Council PTA meeting The Greenbrook School School Site Council is a group of teachers, parents and community members entrusted with the task of academic goal setting. This school based management group gives the entire school community a voice in making important decisions which directly affect the quality of education in our school. The School Site Council acts as a liaison between parents, teachers, administrators and Board of Education members. It consists of six parents, five teachers and two school administrators. Meetings are held on the first Tuesday of each month. Some projects which have been developed by the Council are Author's Night, K-2 Bedtime Story Hour, and Math, Science, and Technology Night.

Welcome: S. Schatzman and N. Blanes welcome everybody.

Board of Education report:
Mrs. G. Waxman filled in for M. Speesler who was unable to attend due to a budget committee meeting. Mrs. Waxman spoke about the Board of Ed. Budget meeting. There is a 139 million dollar budget for the district. There was a 2.8% increase in the districts budget. This increase will not affect the taxes for the district, therefore no tax increase. 25 employees will be out of jobs. This will not include any teachers . March 30th will be the next Board of Ed. meeting.

Principal report:
Dr. Seuss celebration / school spirit week is going great.
There will be a parent’s academy on March 23rd at Crossroads North Middle School. It will discuss how parents and children can cope with stresses through laughter.
This Friday March 20th the third to fifth graders will get their report cards.
Due to our 2 snow days we will not be off on May 22 or 27th, only day off will be May 26th.
March 31st to April 3rd will be parent-teacher conferences at school.
March 26th there will be a concert at school.
Kindergarten registration took place with 54 registrations.  May 19th will be KG orientation.

Math Science and Technology Night was very successful. Thanks to Mrs. Waxman for all her hard work as well as others who helped that night. The book sale during the event
helped our teachers receive $75.00 worth of books for free.
Author’s Night is tentatively set for May 28th.

Future agenda:
SSC will sponsor a gently used book drive. The books will then be given to our incoming KG students to encourage a love of reading.
