The Body Systems

Research / WebQuest

Introduction:

You are a medical doctor and you noticed that many of your patients (classmates) are unaware of the importance of their body systems.  Because you are concerned about your patients’ (classmates’) health, you have decided to make a presentation to your patients (classmates) explaining the body systems.

The Task:

For this Research / WebQuest, you and your team of doctors (partners) must produce a research paper about your assigned body system.  Each member of your team will become an expert/specialist on one organ associated with a particular body system.  Then, come together as a team of doctors and present your body system.

The Process:

First:

Become a specialist on your assigned organ.  (Your other team members will become specialists on the other organs associated with the assigned body system).  Find out information about your organ and take notes.  Include the following information in your note taking:

Second:

Write a paragraph about the organ you researched.

Third:

Come together with the other team of doctors (partners) associated with your body system and share what you learned about the organ you researched.  Together, produce a research report about the assigned body system.  Your research report should include the following:

The Presentation:

You and your team of doctors (partners) must also have a clearly labeled diagram of your body system and its parts.  Use this diagram to present your information on your body system to your patients (classmates).

Remember you and your team of doctors are concerned about your patients’ health and you want to clearly explain the body system you specialized in.
