Jodi Mahoney Principal Brooks Crossing is truly a school of opportunities for student, families and staff. This spring, I was thrilled to be given the opportunity to be the next Principal of Brooks Crossing Elementary School. Brooks Crossing is a place that I have called my “home” for the past five years. In that time I have come to love and respect the work of the school and of the district. This is a school where collaboration is honored and valued, where curriculum comes alive through engaging lessons and where every person in our community is a learner. I began my educational career as a teacher in New York City, then as a staff developer for literacy and math and then as an Assistant Principal. When my family moved to New Jersey, I was fortunate to be chosen for the Assistant Principal job at Brooks Crossing. I bring my love of teaching students, my love of working with teachers on professional development and my dedication to education to this new position. I look forward to learning alongside of you! Neel Desai Assistant Principal Brooks Crossing is a learning community that I have been a part of since it opened its doors to our children in September of 2002. In that time, I have enjoyed teaching our children and collaborating with parents and teachers. I have instructed students in third, fourth and fifth grades at Brooks Crossing prior to becoming the Assistant Principal. I hold a B.S. in Psychology and Exercise Science from Rutgers University and a M.Ed. in Early Childhood/Elementary Education from the Rutgers Graduate School of Education. I received my Administrative and Supervisory certifications from the Foundation for Educational Administration's NJ EXCEL Program for Educational Leadership.
