2012 – 2013 School Lunch Program Index
Welcome to the world of Culinary Arts. Here in South Brunswick our team takes great pride in offering you the highest quality of food, the best of customer service and the convenience of our technology systems for your Dining Experiences.
We are looking forward to a great year. We encourage you to read through this informational brochure to help you better understand our part in your child's day at school.
Chartwells School Dining Services is proud to be a partner with the South Brunswick School District. Our menus and recipes are based on the state and national requirements to create healthy choice options with a variety of selections. Working with Chartwells Regional Dietitian, Anita Shaffer, R.D. and Regional Corporate Chef, Diane Ganci, we are able to offer our students and guests meals that comply and surpass the Dietary Guidelines for the Americans and National School Lunch Program with their School Meal Initiative nutrient standards.
For Parent and Student convenience our school district is set up with a Foodservice Computerized System called SNAP. This system enables parents and students to do the following:
- Money can be put on any student account to avoid the need of a student to carry money in school.
- It allows a complete history of food items for all students who has purchase items in our Dining Facilities.
- We are able to help Parents and caregivers better manage their child's food choices; whether limiting the types of snacks purchased, and/or by monitoring food allergy restrictions supported by a physician's note.
At our High School and Middle School levels we use a menu program called "Profiles in Good Taste".

At each school we hold Youth Advisory Committee meetings. These invaluable meetings are held to involve students, school officials, family members, and other members of the school community in menu development.
