About Us The South Brunswick School District is pleased to provide you with its annual School Report Card for 2007-08 generated by the New Jersey Department of Education with its proscribed form. This report provides data and information from the prior school year to give members of the public the opportunity to assess the accomplishments of our schools and district. Data is also provided on similar districts (called District Factor Grouping or DFG) and state-wide averages.

In perusing the data, you will find that South Brusnwick Public Schools will preapre students to be life-long learners, critical thinkers, effective communicators and wise decision-makers. This will be accomplished through the use of the New Jersey Core Curriculum Content Standards (NJCCCS) at all grade levels. The schools will maintain an environment that promotes intellectual challenges, creativity, social and emotional growth and the healthy physical development of each student. You will also notice that despite its growth and expansion, South Brunswick Township students continue to fare well when compared to others.

You will also notice that taxpayers of South Brunswick realize a good return on their investment. The cost to educate a South Brunswick student remains below the state-wide average.

Dollars spent on education and student test scores do not tell the whole story however. The South Brunswick Township School District is recognized among New Jersey schools for its leadership in professional development, student assessment and curriculum initiatives. Each year, our schools and district successfully compete for grants that fund major initiatives. We actively participate in consortiums with other districts and higher education including Princeton University, Rutgers University, Rider University, Kean University, The College of New Jersey and Middlesex County College to provide enriched opportunities for students and growth experiences for teachers.

Along with our emphasis on high academic achievement for all students, we place a strong emphasis on providing a safe and caring school environment. By way of illustration, our elementary schools have been rapidly expanding their teacher training under "Responsive Classroom," a program that incorporates character education as a cornerstone for teaching and learning. Our middle and high schools ensure personalized learning environments using house and unit systems in which students and teachers interact in positive and meaningful ways. Our athletic and co-curricular programs are extensive in an attempt to develop the many talents of our students. South Brunswick Township schools provide remedial and enrichment programs for students of diverse interests and needs; before school, during school, after school, and during summers. Many of these programs are provided through our outstanding Community Education program that also serves the adult interests of the South Brunswick community.

The South Brunswick Schools are recognized within the state and nationally. A few indicators of our numerous successes are as follows: To view a School Report Card for any school in the South Brunswick School District, please go to http://education.state.nj.us/rc/rc08/menu/23-4860.html
