Ms. Joanne Kerekes
Assistant Superintendent for Curriculum and Instruction
Joanne Kerekes has been a member of the South Brunswick School District since 1990. Ms. Kerekes attended Rider College where she did her undergraduate work in elementary education and Rutgers University where she completed her graduate work in educational administration and supervision.
Prior to coming to South Brunswick, Ms. Kerekes worked as a teacher, unit leader and project specialist in the East Windsor School District.
In South Brunswick, Ms. Kerekes first served as the Staff Developer. In this role, she worked with all of the district schools and in all curricular and programmatic areas. She was able to gain a system perspective and a deep appreciation for the district as a whole.
Ms. Kerekes then spent the next dozen years as principal of several wonderful district schools, going from the smallest in the district to one of the largest: Dayton-Deans Elementary, Monmouth Junction Elementary, South Brunswick Upper Elementary and finally, Crossroads North Middle School.
In 2004 Ms. Kerekes became the Assistant Superintendent of Curriculum and Instruction. She oversees the curriculum revision cycle, the supervisory process, technology, assessment, and professional development.
