NJQSAC 2015 - 2016
The New Jersey Quality Single Accountability Continuum (NJQSAC), as required by N.J.S.A. 18A:7A-3 is a system whereby all public school districts in the State are monitored and evaluated. NJQSAC is designed to be a single, comprehensive accountability system that consolidates and incorporates the monitoring requirements of applicable State and Federal programs. NJQSAC is also intended to complement, and serve in part to implement, Federal requirements.
Under NJQSAC, public school districts are evaluated in five key component areas of school district effectiveness—instruction and program, personnel, fiscal management, operations and governance—to determine the extent to which public school districts are providing a thorough and efficient education. The standards and criteria by which public school districts are evaluated will assess actual achievement, progress toward proficiency, local capacity to operate without State intervention, and the need for support and assistance provided by the State.
In accordance with N.J.A.C. 6A:30, once every three years school districts are required to undergo a full NJQSAC evaluation and must complete the District Performance Review (DPR). The District is required to post on its website its responses to the New Jersey Quality Single Accountability Continuum (NJQSAC) District Performance Review (DPR) and Statement of Assurance. South Brunswick conducted a full NJQSAC evaluation in 2012 – 2013.
Furthermore, all districts are required annually to complete the NJQSAC Statement of Assurance (SOA).
The 2015 – 2016 NJQSAC responses and Statement of Assurance (SOA) were reviewed by the Board of Education and approved at the duly noticed South Brunswick Board of Education public meeting on October 26, 2015.
The 2015 – 2016 NJQSAC Item Responses – Statement of Assurance and Score Summary Page are available for review.
NJQSAC Monitoring Equivalency Waiver
The New Jersey Department of Education (NJDOE) established an equivalent process that allows high-performing school districts to demonstrate continued compliance with NJQSAC regulations without undergoing the standard monitoring. To learn more about this process and how South Brunswick School District qualifies to apply for the Waiver, please visit NJQSAC Monitoring Equivalency Waiver.
The District's waiver request has been approved by the NJ Department of Education. This approval extends for three years the South Brunswick School District's certification as high-performing. The approval letter is available for review.
